Cable Promotion

Rules:

1. NO PURCHASE REQUIRED: There is no purchase necessary to win; purchasing Mississippi Lottery products does not increase the chance of winning. Limit one entry per person, per drawing period. Duplicate entries using multiple email addresses or any other method in the same drawing period will be disqualified.

2. WHO CAN ENTER: The Mississippi Lottery’s September Surprise Promotion is open anyone 21 years or older who watches television in Mississippi. Lottery employees, retailers and vendors, and their immediate family members residing in their household, are not eligible to win any Mississippi Lottery promotional prizes.

3. DRAWING PROCEDURE: The draw pool is comprised of all qualified entries received from during each drawing period shown below:

Draw Period 1: Aug. 28 – Sept. 5. Drawing: Sept. 6.
Draw Period 2: Sept. 6 – Sept. 12. Drawing: Sept. 13.
Draw Period 3: Sept. 13 – Sept. 19. Drawing: Sept. 20.
Draw Period 4: Sept. 20 – Sept. 26. Drawing: Sept. 27.

Prior to accessing the entry form, participants in the drawing for the September Surprise Promotion are required to check boxes on the entry form indicating he/she is (1) at least 21years of age and assumes all risks associated with the prizes, and (2) he/she has read the rules and is not a Mississippi Lottery employee, retailer or vendor, or an immediate family member residing in the household thereof.

Each entry form will include a link to the rules, regulations and prize descriptions associated with the promotion.

4. DRAWING METHOD: The September Surprise Promotion winners will be chosen by random drawing.

5. ODDS OF WINNING: The odds of winning the September Surprise Promotion drawings are based on the number of entries in each drawing.

6. PRIZE ALLOCATION: The prizes awarded will be specified in order on the entry form for each drawing.

7. CONTACTING WINNERS: Each winning September Surprise Promotion entrant will be notified by certified mail. If there is no response within 10 days of the Mississippi Lottery receiving confirmation of the certified mail being delivered, including the drawing date, the Lottery may attempt to contact the winning entrant by email and/or telephone to arrange prize pick up or delivery.

8. WINNER REQUIREMENTS: Each winner of the September Surprise Promotion will be required to submit proper identification and complete a winner claim form – the same process used for prize claims for Mississippi Lottery games. Claims made by mail must be received by the Lottery within the specified prize claim period. The name and physical address on the entry claim form and identification must match. The Mississippi Lottery is not responsible for lost or stolen mail, and claims received after the deadline will be rejected.

10. PRIZE PICK UP: September Surprise Promotion winners will have 30 calendar days after the Mississippi Lottery receives confirmation of the delivery of the notification letter to arrange to take possession of his/her prize as directed by the notification letter. If the confirmation delivery is not received within 10 days after the Mississippi Lottery mails the certified letter, the Lottery may attempt to contact the winner by telephone and/or by email.

If the Lottery is unable to contact the winner within the 30-day period of a drawing, the prize is forfeited. An alternate winner of the prize may be selected, the prize may be held for a later drawing in the September Surprise Promotion, or the prize may be held for later promotion, at the Lottery’s discretion.

11. WINNERS LIST: The Mississippi Lottery will maintain a list of September Surprise Promotion winners and may publicize the winners’ hometowns or home counties on the Mississippi Lottery website, via social media or other means.

12. NO PRIZE EXCHANGE: All September Surprise Promotion prizes will be awarded as described. No substitutions.

13. TAXES: All federal, state, and local taxes on the total prize value, if applicable, are the responsibility of the winner. MLC will withhold and deposit the initial state and federal taxes on behalf of the winner, as required by law. An IRS Form W-2G/1099 will be issued to the winner if required by law.

14. CONTEST ENTRIES AND PRIZE LIMITATIONS: Limit of one entry per person/email address for each drawing. Limit of one prize per household within the September Surprise Promotion.

Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means which subvert the entry process are void. If it is discovered an entrant has submitted, attempted to enter, or used multiple accounts to enter more than the stated limit, all promotion submissions for the entrant will be disqualified, and the entrant may be barred from future promotions, at the sole discretion of the Mississippi Lottery. All entries become the property of the Mississippi Lottery and will not be acknowledged or returned.


15. RELEASE OF LIABILITY: All entrants in the September Surprise Promotion agree the Mississippi Lottery shall have no liability for any personal injuries, death, property damage, or other damage or expenses resulting from or arising out of any aspect of use or acceptance of the prize.

16. DISPUTE RESOLUTION: The venue for any dispute arising under and/or as a result of the September Surprise Promotion shall be the appropriate court in Rankin County, Mississippi.
