Drawing Produces 91 New Millionaires Across Country

JACKSON, MISS. – A Mississippi player woke up $2 million richer after a big win in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, thanks to a ticket purchased at Doc’s Quick Stop Exxon in Byhalia. The player matched all five white balls—3-19-35-51-67—to initially win $1 million, then doubled their prize to $2 million by adding the $1 Power Play option. Rather than using a Quick Pick, the player selected their own numbers. As of this release, the prize remains unclaimed.

Wednesday’s drawing is already being called a “Night of Millionaires” nationwide. While jackpot-winning tickets in Indiana and Kansas split the estimated $143 million top prize with an estimated cash value of $65 million, the real story extended far beyond the jackpot. An incredible 89 additional players across the country also became millionaires, bringing the total to 91 new millionaires in a single night.

In an interesting twist, the winning white ball numbers aligned in a straight vertical line on many Powerball playslips, a pattern some players intentionally use. According to the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), several winners who have come forward said they used that exact approach. The Mississippi playslip, however, is structured differently and would not have allowed for that straight-line selection. 

Mississippi’s $2 million winner was one of 27 players nationwide who boosted their $1 million prize by purchasing the Power Play feature. Without it, the prize would have remained at $1 million—making this win a powerful example of how a $1 add-on can make a big difference.

The Powerball jackpot now resets to an estimated $20 million with an estimated cash value of $9.1 million for the  drawing on Saturday, May 2.

JACKSON, MISS. – The Lotto America jackpot continues to climb, reaching an estimated $22.99 million for the Saturday, April 25 drawing, now ranking as the third largest jackpot in the game’s history. The jackpot carries an estimated $10.49 million cash value.

The jackpot rolled following Wednesday night’s drawing, extending the run to 109 drawings since the game’s last jackpot winner on Aug. 6, 2025. This surge is especially notable: jackpots exceeding $20 million in Lotto America are rare, occurring only five times since the game’s relaunch on Nov. 12, 2017.

JACKSON, MISS. — A Mississippi Lottery player has added to an unprecedented streak of Powerball wins, becoming the third $50,000 winner in as many drawings with a ticket purchased at Keith’s Super Store #80 in Lucedale. With the $1 Power Play add-on, the prize would have multiplied to $150,000. This latest win follows two other $50,000 prizes claimed in back-to-back drawings, marking a milestone of three consecutive $50,000 wins across three drawings.

Power Play is an optional $1 add-on feature for Powerball tickets that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x. 

On Monday, a ticket purchased at Circle K #270515 in Southaven also matched four white balls and the Powerball in the regular Powerball drawing to win $50,000. That prize, too, could have multiplied to $100,000 with the addition of Power Play.

The streak began with a Double Play win Saturday, March 28, when a ticket purchased at Sprint Mart #9 in Fulton matched four white balls plus the Powerball in the Double Play drawing. The $1 Double Play add-on gave the player a second chance to win and paid off with a $50,000 prize.

The Mississippi Lottery is welcoming spring with three new scratch-off games in retailers by Tuesday, April 7, including the latest addition to its Multiplier Madness lineup. Mississippi Lottery players are proving there’s more than one way to win with Powerball. In back-to-back drawings, two players each secured $50,000 prizes, with one player winning $50,000 after adding the $1 Double Play option to their ticket, while another matched numbers in the standard drawing to win $50,000, missing the chance to double their prize to $100,000 had they included the $1 Power Play option.

On Saturday, the player secured the win after matching four out of five white balls plus the Powerball in the Double Play drawing on a ticket purchased at Sprint Mart #9 in Fulton. For an additional $1, players can add the Powerball Double Play feature to their Powerball ticket for their numbers to have another chance to win in an additional drawing.

$705,000 Mississippi Match 5 Jackpot Claimed by Columbus Player

JACKSON, MISS. – Mississippi Lottery players continued to make an impact in February, generating a $9,567,838.20 transfer to the State of Mississippi. With this latest contribution, total transfers for Fiscal Year 2026 have climbed to $88,222,820.51.

With transfer funds crossing the $80 million threshold, all remaining fiscal year transfers will be directed to the Education Enhancement Fund (EEF) with the Mississippi Department of Education. With this transfer, the EEF has now received $8,222,820,51. 

Total contributions to the state have now surpassed $780 million since Mississippi Lottery sales began. All figures are contingent upon the annual financial audit.

$705K Mississippi Match 5 Jackpot Claimed

A ticket purchased March 3^rd at Sprint Mart #4105 in Columbus matched all five numbers to win the Mississippi Match 5 estimated jackpot of $705,000. The winning player, a Columbus resident, came in the following day to claim the big six-figure prize. The jackpot then reset and has an estimated value of $54,000 for tonight’s drawing.
