Friday’s Mega Million Jackpot an Est. $177 Million
FLOWOOD, MISS. — A Mississippi Powerball player is $50,000 richer after turning a $1 Double Play add-on into a big payday Wednesday night just one week after another Mississippi player did the same.
The winning ticket, purchased at Walmart Superstore in Pascagoula, matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball in the Double Play drawing to win $50,000.
Double Play gives Powerball players a second chance to win using the same numbers in a second drawing immediately following the regular Powerball draw. For just $1, players get another shot at a winning moment, and recent Mississippi winners are proving that opportunity can pay off in a big way.
Last week, a ticket purchased at Fast Lane State Street in Jackson matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball in the Double Play drawing, also winning $50,000.
Back-to-back Double Play wins are creating excitement across the state, reminding players that sometimes a simple $1 add-on can deliver a big reward and a memorable win.
While there was no jackpot winner Wednesday night, dreams of a life-changing prize continue to build as the Powerball jackpot climbs. The estimated jackpot for Saturday, Sept. 5, is $173 million, with an estimated cash value of $75 million.
